Experience traditional Swedish music
and dancing at Linköpings Folkmusikfestival

Experience traditional Swedish music

On October 22-23 you will have the opportunity to experience Swedish music as it was long before Abba and Roxette and as it still is. Linköping’s folk music festival will take place at Cupolen, Folkets Park, Majgatan 4, right across the street from Gamla Linköping (the Old Town), and lots of bands will be playing more or less traditional music. Bands like Garmarna, Hoven Droven, Nåra and Klintetten play traditional Swedish folk music with their own personal touch. Kandels Kapell does it the Klezmer way and Golbang the oriental way. Vurpa is more into medieval music. These, and many others will give their best during the festival. There will also be a forum for folk dance on stage with several different acts performing. The second Studentspelmanslags-VM, world championship for student amateur groups playing traditional music, will also take place during the festival.
